Private testing resumes ahead of season opener

The majority of the WorldSBK teams on track in the next two weeks.

The WorldSBK teams are ready to resume their testing schedule ahead of the season opener of the 2015 season, taking place on February 22nd at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit in Australia. Given the time of the year, the venues chosen are all located in the Iberian Peninsula.

The Pata Honda World Superbike team with both reigning Champions Sylvain Guintoli and Michael van der Mark is currently at Portimao’s Autodromo do Algarve for a three-day test starting today, after which they will head to MotorLand Aragon to join both factory and private Kawasaki squad for two days of practice on January 19-20.

The following two days will see the 2015 on track debut at Portimao for the rebranded Aruba.it – Ducati Superbike Team and many others, including Red Devils Aprilia – with Jordi Torres for the first time on the RSV4 RR – Crescent Suzuki, BMW Motorrad Italia, Althea Racing and Team Hero EBR.

On January 26-27 another test will take place at Jerez involving the majority of the above teams, before shipping the bikes to Australia in time for the DWO official test (Feb 16-17).

Here is the complete testing schedule:

14-16 January Portimao: Pata Honda World Superbike

19-20 January MotorLand Aragon: Pata Honda World Superbike, Kawasaki Racing Team, Grillini Kawasaki, Team Pedercini Kawasaki (Salom)

21-22 January Portimao: Aruba.it – Ducati Superbike Team, MV Agusta Reparto Corse (WSBK and WSS), BMW Motorrad Italia, Red Devils Aprilia + Crescent Suzuki + Team Hero EBR + Althea Racing Ducati + San Carlo Puccetti Kawasaki (WSS)

26-27 January Jerez: Ducati Superbike Team, Red Devils Aprilia, Kawasaki Racing Team, Crescent Suzuki, BMW Motorrad Italia, Pata Honda World Superbike, Team Hero EBR, Althea Racing Team Ducati, Team Pedercini Kawasaki (Salom) + San Carlo Puccetti Kawasaki (WSS)
